The UMAP conference is one of the most popular international conferences for researchers and experts in the area of personalized recommender systems and adaptation services. UMAP’17 was collocated with SMAP 2017, a Semantic and Social Media Adaptation and Presentation workshop.
Know-Center’s Social Computing Area, represented by Dominik Kowald, has successfully presented a publication at UMAP 2017. The publication was jointly authored with Simone Kopeinik from the Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science (ISDS) at the University of Technology Graz, and Elisabeth Lex, the Area Head of the Social Computing department at Know-Center.
The publication was published under the title “The TagRec Framework as a Toolkit for the Development of Tag-Based Recommender Systems” in the Adjunct Publication of UMAP’2017. The publication presents the TagRec framework, which is an open-source toolkit for the development and evaluation of tag-based recommender systems. Apart from that, the paper summarizes various use cases that have been realized with this framework in the course of the two EU research projects “Learning Layers” and “AFEL”, in which the Know-Center is involved as partner as well.
The paper and its corresponding poster are available for download. The TagRec framework is also available on GitHub. Read more about UMAP’17 and the detailed program here.
We congratulate all authors to this successful publication!
