A Know-Center poster titled "An Open Labelled Dataset for Mobile Phone Sensing Based Fall Detection" was accepted to be presented at the conference.
The 12th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing, Networking and Services
(MobiQuitous 2015) will take place in Coimbra, Portugal from July 22 to 24, 2015. This conference fosters research collaboration through focused discussions, interaction and exchange of experiences that will designate future research efforts and directions.
Areas addressed by MobiQuitous 2015 include systems, applications, social networks, middleware, networking, data management and services, all with special focus on mobility and ubiquitous computing.
A Know-Center poster titled “An Open Labelled Dataset for Mobile Phone Sensing Based Fall Detection” was accepted to be presented at the conference. The paper describes the development of an open dataset for the research community to evaluate different fall detection algorithms based on mobile phones. This dataset contains both accelerometer and gyroscope data. Data was labelled with four types of falls (e.g., “stumbling”) and ten types of non-fall activities (e.g., “sit down”).
The poster authors from Know-Center are proud of the successful efforts in creating above mentioned dataset, which was gained by using mobile phones as sensors for fall detection. Hereby the authors would like to thank the Ninpo Bujutsu Club Graz, for simulating so many falls.
Moreover, Know-Center is proud that the author’s efforts were acknowledged by MobiQuitous 2015, thus they are able to present their work at this renowned conference.
