The by Know-Center researchers Belgin Mutlu, Patrick Höfler, Eduardo Veas und Vedran Sabol published paper Suggesting Visualisations for Published Data was accepted at the International Conference on Information Visualization Theory and Applications in Lisbon.
The paper deals with research papers that are published in different digital libraries and that apply their own metadata models to administrate, request and analyze their scientific facts. Commonly, only those metadata are taken into account that are made available by each article but not their contents. Therefore it is a tedious task to filter the contents of publications. Moreover, scientific data within publications are hard coded in certain format. Even if one succeeds in gaining insights in published data in digital libraries it is almost impossible to conduct different than the by the author intended analysis.
