The 4th industrial revolution, summarized under „industry 4.0“, involves the IT penetration in industrial production processes. The basic idea of industry 4.0 is that humans, machines and resources communicate in the intelligent production of the future as easily as in a social network. The interaction of self-learning machines and self-optimizing automation processes will influence the working world and offers new possibilities. On September 30, experts from science and industry discuss which opportunities and challenges rise for the industrial sector and what the 4th industrial revolution means for the employees in the future production.
