Im Rahmen der von unserem Partner MIMOS erstmals veranstalteten STAKE-Konferenz zum Thema Semantic Technologies and Knowledge Engineering konnte das Know-Center die Teilnehmer und Teilnehmerinnen und sogar den Wissenschaftsminister von Malaysien von seinen Forschungsarbeiten begeistern.
In the mid of July our associated scientific partner MIMOS organized its first conference on Semantic Technologies and Knowledge Engineering (STAKE) in Kuala Lumpur. The Know-Center was represented with an exhibition booth and inspired the conference participants including the Malaysian Minister of Science with its research.
From 12th to 21st July our associated scientific partner MIMOS organized the first Knowledge Technology Week in Asia. MIMOS aims to establish a conference series in Malaysia, similar to Europe’s successful I-KNOW. The first Malaysian conference for Artificial Intelligence, along with a number of tutorials and the first Malaysian Conference on Semantic Technologies STAKE took place within this Technology Week. During the whole week the Know-Center was able convince the audience of its scientific competencies several times.

A tutorial held by Klaus Tochtermann and Vedran Sabol was dedicated to the topic “Ontology Mediation as basis for the support of Semantic Service Discovery in the area of Future Internet”. The dinner keynote of Klaus Tochtermann on Tuesday evening was dealing with the ongoing topic Future Internet and its relation to Semantic Technologies.
The STAKE also offered further renowned guests and keynote speakers from Europe and Asia. The Malaysian Minister of Science YB Datuk Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili had the pleasure to open the conference. Afterwards he visited the Know-Center exhibition booth and was obviously fascinated from the research results presented by Klaus Tochtermann. He emphasized the importance of the cooperation between MIMOS and Know-Center and appreciated a continuation and intensification in future. Other renowned guests and speakers were Dato Abdul Wahab Abdullah (CEO and President of MIMOS), Dr. Paolo Traverso (Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Italy), Professor Andreas Dengl (DFKI, Germany) and the Austrian ambassador.

Dinner-Keynote Klaus TochtermannVon 12. – 21. Juli veranstaltete unser assozierter wissenschaftlicher Partner MIMOS die erste Knowledge Technology Week in Asien. MIMOS möchte nach dem Vorbild der I-KNOW eine ähnlich erfolgreiche Konferenzreihe in Malaysien ins Leben rufen. Im Rahmen dieser Woche fand die erste malaysische Tagung für Künstliche Intelligenz, eine Reihe von Tutorials sowie die erste malaysische Tagung für Semantische Technologien STAKE statt. Das Know-Center war in dieser Woche mit seiner Kompetenz mehrfach zentral eingebunden.

Das von Klaus Tochtermann und Vedran Sabol abgehaltene Tutorial widmete sich dem Thema „Ontology Mediation als Basis zur Unterstützung von Semantischen Service Discovery im Future Internet“. Auch die Dinner Keynote von Klaus Tochtermann am Dienstag Abend beschäftigte sich mit dem Future Internet und dessen Bezug zu Semantischen Technologien.
Die STAKE konnte auch mit anderen hochkarätigen Gästen und Keynotern aus Europa und Asien aufwarten. So ließ es sich der malayische Wissenschaftsminister YB Datuk Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili nicht nehmen die Konferenz zu eröffnen. Bei seinem anschließenden Besuch am Stand des Know-Center zeigte sich der Minister begeistert von den Forschungsarbeiten des Know-Center und merkte an, dass er die Kooperation zwischen MIMOS und dem Know-Center außerordentlich begrüße und hoffe, dass diese zukünftig fortgeführt und weiter intensiviert wird. Weitere hochkarätige Gäste und Vortragende waren unter anderem der CEO und Präsident von MIMOS Dato Abdul Wahab Abdullah, Dr. Paolo Traverso von der Fondazione Bruno Kessler und Prof. Andreas Dengl vom DFKI wie auch der österreichische Botschafter.
