Dr. Vedran Sabol and Manuela Rauch BSc presented a long paper titled “Visual Ontology Alignment System – An Evaluation” (http://www.ep.liu.se/ecp/081/003/ecp12081003.pdf) at the SIGRAD 2012 conference. The presented work represents the state of the art in combining visual and algorithmic methods for mapping and integrating complex semantic knowledge bases. The semi-automatic, visual ontology alignment system, known as the Semantic Mediation Tool (SMT), was developed and evaluated within a 4-year cooperation project with MIMOS, the Malaysian national ICT research centre. SIGRAD conference (http://cs.lnu.se/sigrad2012/), the Swedish Chapter of Eurographics, where our results were presented, is the premier Nordic forum for computer graphics and visualization advances for academia, government, and industry.
