RESEARCH INTERACTION DESIGNER & DEVELOPER (F/M/D)
YOUR TASKS:
- Conduct research on the design and development of user-centered interfaces and interactive systems based on established principles of human computer interaction (HCI).
- Investigate and integrate socio-technical factors to ensure that technological solutions align with the social, cultural, and ethical contexts of user communities.
- Design and carry out user studies and system evaluations (e.g., interviews, surveys, focus groups), translating empirical findings into design recommendations and system improvements.
- Collaborate within interdisciplinary research teams of designers, developers, and domain experts to develop innovative and sustainable socio-technical solutions.
- Employ programming skills (e.g., Java, Python, C++) for the prototyping and technical realization of HCI concepts.
- Contribute to the design and facilitation of workshops and participatory formats that promote a culture of user-centered research and innovation.
- Explore and promote AI literacy, examining how users understand, interact with, and critically engage with artificial intelligence in everyday contexts.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Java, Python, C++) or in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and relational databases.
- Experience with prototyping tools, UX/UI design, and usability principles.
- Proven expertise in HCI research methods (study design, quantitative/qualitative/mixed methods, statistics, research ethics).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and self-initiative.
- Fluency in English (B2 or higher); German proficiency is a plus.

We are required by law to specify the minimum gross salary according to the collective agreement, which is for the full-time position with some working experience a minimum 3.175,00 EUR gross per month (14 times per year). Depending on qualifications and experience we are willing to pay a higher salary in line with the market.
