The CODE Annotator Tool is a web based application to quickly import documents from various sources, semantically annotate these documents and finally to train a classification algorithm to learn the semantic annotations. Here, the sources from the document include direct uploads, imports from an E-Mail account and import from a Mendeley account. For the definition of the semantic entities and relations, simple mind maps are used. This can be chosen in contrast to modelling an ontology to keep the user’s effort at the minimum. The semantic annotation of the document serves two purposes – at first, user may use the semantic search functionality of the CODE Annotator Tool to find those documents that truly match the search criterion, secondly, user may train their own classification model with just a few mouse clicks.
